Following advocacy by LeadingAge National, HUD has delayed HOTMA implementation deadlines and will allow owners discretion in enforcing new asset limits for current residents, a strong step in helping to prevent evictions of older adults who rely on HUD’s rental assistance programs.

After members reported that outdated agency standards were preventing HUD approval of Service Coordination funds, LeadingAge National pushed back. Now, HUD is approving requests to waive the outdated requirements.
