LeadingAge New York

Founded in 1961, LeadingAge New York, formerly the New York Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (NYAHSA), is a statewide association that represents not-for-profit, mission-driven and public continuing care providers. Their membership includes nursing homes, assisted living, senior housing, continuing care retirement communities, and community service providers. Leading Age New York's over 350 members collectively care for approximately 500,000 New Yorkers annually. LeadingAge NY provides advocacy, technical assistance, data and policy analysis for their members. Through conferences and other programming, the association provides education for the full continuum, with options for C-suite leaders, administrators, departmental managers and professionals, and aide level caregiving staff. These offerings address best practices, innovations, compliance issues and more. The field is facing serious workforce shortages, and the association’s Leadership Academy develops future leaders; while other education develops nursing, social work and caregiver leaders.
