Despite legal challenges, the COVID-19 vaccination mandate for health care personnel remains in effect, with a compliance deadline of Sept. 27^th for nursing homes and hospitals and Oct. 7^th for other health care providers. Only the State's prohibition on religious exemptions has been enjoined. LeadingAge NY has provided guidelines and a sample form for religious exemption requests.

State issues guidance authorizing immediate use of Pfizer boosters.

Health care providers of all types have an opportunity to apply for COVID-19-related expense relief.

The EO seeks to expand significantly the eligible health care workforce by authorizing out-of-state and retired professionals and recent graduates to practice in New York. It also allows additional health care workers to administer COVID-19 testing and vaccinations.

DALs require clinical and pharmacy partnerships to be put in place to facilitate primary and booster vaccinations.
