From Ami Schnauber, LeadingAge NY Vice President of Advocacy and Public Policy:

After more than 14 years at LeadingAge NY, it is time for me to say farewell. My last day with LeadingAge NY is Fri., Oct. 1st.

It has been my honor to serve you as you have worked to provide the best care to our most frail children and adults, including my brother (thank you United Helpers team!), and the most innovative models of care to our seniors. This has been an incredibly difficult couple of years, and I have so much respect for all of you. I will forever be grateful to have had this opportunity to meet you and advocate with you over the past 14 years.

I am not leaving long term care, just serving in a different capacity. I will be joining HealthPRO Heritage, a national health care solutions partner that provides therapy, wellness, and consulting services for organizations at every level of the care continuum. This role will allow me to continue to serve aging services providers and work on the national level to develop innovative models of care. New York is among the regions I will be working in, so I look forward to seeing you at upcoming conferences and meetings.

I would love to stay in touch and am always a phone call or email away. You can reach me at ami.schnauber@gmail.com or 518-605-2310. I will be in Atlanta for the LeadingAge National Conference and look forward to connecting with many of you there.

Be well and continue the great work you are doing – it is incredibly important.

From Jim Clyne, LeadingAge NY President and CEO:

I want to thank Ami for her service to LeadingAge NY and its members. Over the past several years, she has headed the Advocacy and Public Policy unit providing leadership, guidance, and support for all of our policy activities. Ami has worked on so many issues, I couldn’t possibly highlight them all, but I want to note that her impact on LeadingAge NY goes beyond our legislative successes. Ami played a key role in starting our very successful Leadership Academy, she was the driving force behind the development and operation of our Diversity Committee, and she led our effort to develop our social media operations. Finally, I especially want to thank Ami for willingly taking on being the point person for LeadingAge NY in our COVID-19 response. From our recent membership survey, we know how much our members appreciated all the work the entire LeadingAge NY team has done to respond to the pandemic.
