Medicaid Cost Report and Other Due Dates

The Department of Health (DOH) continues to remind homes that Medicaid RHCF cost reports, along with required certifications, are due July 3rd and that no extensions will be granted (although hospital-based homes that depend on ICR data to complete their report should contact DOH for guidance if ICR delays are making it impossible for them to meet the established deadline). We urge members to make sure that all those who will certify the report have the necessary Health Commerce System (HCS) access in place. Failure to file by the due date will have a detrimental impact on a facility's Nursing Home Quality Initiative scoring and may impact Medicaid reimbursement.

Executive Order 38 reports (Executive Compensation) are due by June 29th or by the due date of a provider's Medicaid cost report, whichever is later.

Comments on the proposed Medicare SNF PPS rule must be submitted by June 26th, although the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has extended until Aug. 25th the comment period for the Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that outlines the new RCS-1 RUG classification methodology

No further information on bed hold provisions has been issued as of this writing, meaning the DOH guidance issued on May 12th and posted here continues to apply.
