The FAQs were developed in response to new regulations that took effect in March 2023.

Providers are reminded that legitimate email communications from DOH related to Medicaid liabilities will come from an email address ending in "@health.ny.gov." In addition, they will not request payment for Medicaid liabilities via wire transfer or other electronic payment method.
