Deadline to Submit Appeal Information Extended
The Department of Health (DOH) has extended the due date to Jan. 8, 2024 for nursing homes to verify the accuracy of outstanding appeals. DOH is implementing a nursing home rate appeal “attestation exercise” with the goal of clearing outstanding Medicaid rate appeals for rate years 2009 through 2021. Homes with outstanding appeals are asked to review a listing of appeals provided by DOH in an Excel file and to provide the requested information on the Residential Health Care Facility Open Appeals Impact Form tab of that Excel file for each appeal listed for their facility. Please note that DOH distributed a corrected Excel file on Oct. 3rd along with the notification of the extended due date.
Providers should submit the completed Excel file along with the attestation form (available here) via email to nfrates@health.ny.gov by Jan. 8, 2024. For those who missed the Sept. 27th webinar that DOH held to review the process, the recording should be posted shortly; we will circulate the link once available. DOH is also compiling a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document and invites questions to be submitted via nfrates@health.ny.gov.
