Oppose Cuts to High-Quality Long-Term Care Providers in This Year's Budget
The FY 2020-2021 Executive Budget Proposal reconvenes the Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT II) and charges the Team with finding $2.5 billion in State Medicaid savings ($5 billion all-funds). Long-term care Medicaid rates have been cut more than any other sector year after year, leading to negative margins and closures. A $5 billion cut in already inadequate Medicaid LTC rates will inevitably hurt low-income seniors and consumers.
No high-quality, well-managed provider or MLTC plan should be forced to close due to inadequate rates. We urge the Legislature to reduce the proposed $5 billion Medicaid cut and avoid further cuts in LTC rates. Send your lawmaker a message now!
