NYS Salary Disclosure Law Takes Effect Sept. 17th

The NYS Salary Disclosure Law, requiring covered employers to disclose salary ranges in job advertisements, promotions, or transfer opportunities, takes effect on Sept. 17, 2023. The law applies to all employers with four or more employees. It does not apply to municipal employers. The disclosure requirements apply to positions that will be physically performed, at least in part, in NYS and positions that will be performed outside of NYS, but report to a supervisor, office, or work site within the state. A memorandum by LeadingAge NY's outside counsel, Hinman Straub, is available to members only here.
