DataPoint: ACF Occupancy, 3rd Quarter, 2019

Based on a LeadingAge NY analysis of three years of Adult Care Facility (ACF) quarterly census reporting data, the median statewide occupancy rate was 81.2 percent during the third quarter of 2019, down from 83.5 percent the prior year. Median ACF occupancy peaked during the second quarter of 2017 (85.1 percent) and was lowest during the first quarter of 2019 (80.9 percent). The median number of available beds per facility increased from 9.5 to 12 over the three-year span. Average occupancy during the third quarter of 2019, which was the most recent reporting period, was highest in Delaware (100 percent), Columbia (96.9 percent), and Bronx counties (91.5 percent).
