Updated DOH Return to Work Guidance Aligns with September CDC Guidance

Under the updated guidance, which applies to all health care settings, asymptomatic HCP with higher-risk exposures are not subject to work restrictions, unless they are moderately to severely immunocompromised. They must, however, be tested for COVID-19 24 hours after the exposure, and if negative, on days 3 and 5 after the exposure. The new guidance does not apply to ACFs, which will be subject to separate guidance anticipated in the near future.

Members are advised to follow the DOH guidance with respect to fully vaccinated personnel who are infected with COVID-19, in the context of a critical staffing shortage.
