The draft amendment proposal released by DOH on Sept. 17^th seeks a four-year extension and renewal that would invest $8 billion in DSRIP Performance, Workforce Development, Social Determinants of Health, and the Interim Access Assurance Fund and identifies long-term care as a "high-need priority area."

The session, the first of two to be held in September and October, was designed to “inform a Department study examining how staffing enhancements, and other initiatives, can be used to improve patient safety and the quality of healthcare service delivery, in hospitals and nursing homes.”

Nursing homes should monitor the transition to the new reimbursement methodology closely to confirm accurate billing and ensure diligent documentation.
