Reviewing and Correcting VBP Data

Nursing home staff involved in MDS data review have an opportunity to learn how to request corrections to the data used for calculating their home’s hospital readmission rates. The Medicare Learning Network (MLN) is hosting a call on the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) program review and corrections process on Wed., March 20th from 1:30 to 3 pm. SNFs have an opportunity to review their quarterly VBP reports and submit correction requests. The event is free, but registration is required. The registration page is available here.

A question and answer session will follow the presentation, and providers are invited to email questions in advance to SNFVBPInquiries@cms.hhs.gov with “SNF VBP Mar 20 NPC” in the subject line. These questions may be addressed during the call or used for other materials following the call.

Because current VBP program data will be used to increase or decrease a home’s October 2019 Medicare rate, members should monitor their VBP quarterly reports to ensure that their data is correct. The deadline for correction requests to the latest report is April 1, 2019. Instructions for accessing the facility-specific reports are available here.
