Reminder: Nursing Home MDS Changes Take Effect Oct. 1st
The launch of the updated nursing home Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 v1.18.11 is just around the corner on Oct. 1st. As previously reported, LeadingAge National has made a variety of tools and trainings available to members to prepare for the changes. These resources can be accessed with a LeadingAge login here. In addition, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has provided training videos that can be accessed here.
CMS has released a number of minor updates to the item sets and User's Manual over the past several weeks, including an Errata Sheet for the Manual on Sept. 8th and updated Final MDS 3.0 Item Sets on Aug. 24th. These documents and others are available in the Downloads section of the CMS MDS webpage here.
