PBJ Data Submission Stakes Increase
Nursing home members should ensure that their 4th Quarter of 2017 Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) data submission is correct and complete by the Feb. 14th deadline. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has indicated that this submission will be used for the purpose of calculating the 5-Star staffing measure, which has been based on CMS-671 data until now. PBJ reference materials are available on the CMS PBJ web page here. CMS has recently posted raw nursing data from the most recent submission (3rd quarter of 2017) on the Data.CMS.Gov page here.
