NHSN Will Be Unavailable Feb. 23rd Through 25th
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) notified users of the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) that the application will be unavailable from Fri., Feb. 23rd through Sun., Feb. 25th, to accommodate scheduled system upgrades. Nursing home members will recall that the NHSN reporting week runs from Monday through Sunday, with homes required to submit COVID data at least once during each week. In recognition of the Sunday deadline, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will suspend enforcement for the Feb. 19th-25th reporting week. Data covering that week should be submitted as soon as possible following the return of system capabilities on Mon., Feb. 26th.
