Dear Administrator Letter on Construction Guidelines

In an Aug. 6, 2019 Dear Administrator Letter (DAL), the Department of Health (DOH) announced its plan to adopt the 2018 standards of the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI). Pending approval of a proposed regulation codifying these changes, applications, including new construction and renovation, received after Sept. 1, 2019 may meet 2018 FGI and all its referenced standards as an equivalent to the existing requirement to meet the 2010 FGI specified in 10 NYCRR 711.2.
