CMS Releases SNF QRP Quick Reference Guide

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a Quick Reference Guide for the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Quality Reporting Program (QRP). The SNF QRP was mandated by the IMPACT Act of 2014. As outlined in the FY 2016 SNF PPS final rule, the Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary shall reduce the market basket update (also known as the Annual Payment Update, or APU) by 2 percentage points for any SNF that violates data submission requirements. Therefore, it is essential that facilities comply with these requirements to avoid loss in revenue.
