CMP Funds Available to Nursing Homes

In July 2020, the Department of Health (DOH) issued Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) NH 20-07 advising that nursing homes could access Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) funds for the purchase of communication devices such as tablets in order to facilitate communication between residents and families, as in-person visitation, for the most part, was not allowed.

On Feb. 24, 2021, DOH issued DAL NH 21-05 announcing the availability of additional CMP funds for the purchase of tents for outdoor visitation and/or clear dividers to create physical barriers to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission during in-person visits.

The DAL provides additional information on the types of purchases that are allowed, along with an application template. The maximum award is $3,000, and items must have been purchased on or after Sept. 17, 2020 to be eligible for reimbursement.

The deadline to apply for funding is 3 p.m. on Wed., March 3, 2021.
