CDC Offering Refresher on Nursing Home Staff Flu Vaccination Reporting

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has scheduled three opportunities for nursing home providers to review how to submit their health care personnel flu vaccination data through the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). Members will recall that this federal mandate went into effect last year and parallels, but does not replace, a similar requirement to report staff flu vaccination data to the State. To meet the federal requirement, nursing homes must report the flu vaccination status of all health care personnel who worked for at least one day between Oct. 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024. The report must be submitted by May 15, 2024.

The webinars, which will all feature the same content, will be offered on Feb. 28th at 2 p.m., March 28th at 2 p.m., and April 25th at 2 p.m. Registration is required, and links for all three dates are available on the dedicated NHSN Healthcare Personnel (HCP) Flu Vaccination page here (scroll down to “Upcoming Webinars” in the center of the page).
