Any Questions on Nursing Home Flu Reporting Due May 15th?

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that it will be holding Zoom Office Hours for skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) on Wed., May 10th and Thurs., May 11th at 1 p.m. to discuss annual reporting of staff influenza vaccination data in the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Healthcare Personnel Safety (HPS) Component. This reporting, which is new this year, must be completed by May 15th. No advance registration is required. The link to join the Zoom meeting at the scheduled hour is available here; the Passcode is =bu$yZ8b. To join by phone, dial 1-646-828-7666 and enter Webinar ID 160 557 8239 and Passcode 36622215. Information regarding the Office Hours and the Zoom access links is also posted here.

The requirement to submit staff flu vaccination data through the NHSN, and specifically through the HPS Component that requires SNF providers to establish or ensure that they have access to this Component within the NHSN, is part of the SNF Quality Reporting Program (QRP). Failure to report sufficiently complete data can lead to the loss of 2 percent of Medicare Part A revenue. We recommend that members who have not yet successfully reported their flu vaccinations through the NHSN attend these Office Hours. More information on the requirement is available here.
