Nursing Home Cost Report Deadline Approaching
The 2016 Nursing Home Medicaid Cost Report is due July 3, 2017, and the Department of Health (DOH) maintains that no extensions will be available. Please note that the report is not considered filed until electronic certifications are completed. Now is the time to ensure that those who will certify the report have the required Health Commerce System (HCS) account permissions. A copy of the Dear Administrator Letter that includes the Electronic Certification Access Request Form is available here. Members should also ensure that they are using the corrected version of the cost report software (that includes a line for 2018 data on the second page of Schedule 17).
In a note sent to nursing homes today, DOH announced that the deadline for filing an appeal for 2017 rates is now June 23rd. The originally established date was June 2nd, but because DOH had reposted an updated copy of the rate Dear Administrator Letter with an updated date, DOH has extended the window until June 23rd. Please be advised that due to the posting of the revised February 23, 2017 DAL that stated a nursing home appeal filing deadline of 120 days, the Department has set up an additional publication date of 06/13/2017 with an 11 day window to coincide with the revised DAL. The deadline to file and properly submit appeals for the 2017 rates ONLY, is midnight on June 23, 2017.
