Nursing Home Cost Reports Due July 20th

Nursing home members should have received notice that the Department of Health (DOH) has posted the 2020 Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF) Medicaid Cost Report software on the Health Commerce System (HCS). The report is unchanged from last year. The announced due date is July 20th, which elicits concerns on the part of hospital-based homes whose reporting relies on data from their sponsoring hospital's finalized Institutional Cost Reports (ICR), which are not due until August. We have requested that DOH adjust the RHCF-2 due date to reflect this reality and to recognize that the Aug. 2nd due date of the Medicare cost reports may strain the capacity of auditors and cost report preparation firms. The cost report Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) is available here. (Note that the DAL includes an erroneous reference to an "attached schedule" that DOH asks be disregarded  no schedule accompanied the DAL.)
