Nursing Home Capital Webinar to Be Held Thursday at 1 PM

The Department of Health (DOH) will present a webinar on nursing home capital reimbursement issues on Thurs., July 13th from 1 to 4 pm. As in recent years, DOH intends to issue draft preview capital calculations in early fall. Homes that identify errors or omissions have the opportunity to submit a corrected calculation along with an attestation verifying that their correction is accurate. DOH reviews the submission to ensure that it meets regulatory and policy standards. If it does, that calculation is used for reimbursement, and the Office of Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) verifies accuracy through subsequent audit. The webinar is intended to review capital expense reimbursement for nursing homes, address issues that DOH has observed in the attestation process, and help make sure that homes know how to submit successful attestations. The webinar will also provide an overview of the refinancing shared savings program DOH is implementing and discuss equity withdrawal approval procedures.

DOH intends to circulate the details of the webinar shortly and has confirmed that it will be recorded and posted on the Health Commerce System (HCS) so that those unable to participate on Thursday will be able to access it. The first DOH notification is copied below, with dial-in information forthcoming.
