Medicaid Cost Report Due Date Extended by Two Weeks

On June 30th, the Department of Health (DOH) issued a two-week extension for filing 2021 nursing home Medicaid cost reports. The new due date is July 25th. The Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is now available as well. The announcement note from DOH is copied below. We remind members to please make sure that those who need, but do not yet have, access to the electronic Operator and CPA certifications have the appropriate permissions in place to access the specific sections of the Health Commerce System (HCS) as soon as possible.

We urge members to ensure that reports are completed accurately and submitted on time. Capital reporting errors may require the refiling of the report to correct, staffing funding may be contingent on accurate reporting, Advanced Training Initiative (ATI) funding may rely on complete retention data, while late reports may reduce the amount or likelihood of quality pool funding and could result in penalties.
