Live Views of Virtual CFO Council Meetings Tops 350

We thank the presenters and sponsors who shared their time and expertise, as well as the members who dedicated time last week to hear about topics of critical importance to financial managers. Although dealing with restrictions that make it impossible to gather in person for seasonal CFO Council meetings, members made the most of the virtual opportunity to delve into key topics.

If you are a member who missed the sessions and would like to receive the handouts or listen to archived recordings of the events, we ask that you provide us your contact information here. We also request that those who participated take a minute to provide feedback here.

A brief description of each program is copied below.

  • June 10th FEATURE PRESENTATION: Medicare Billing Considerations in the Time of COVID (Marc Zimmet): In response to the health emergency, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) was quick to announce certain flexibilities for nursing homes but slow to provide detailed guidance. Marc Zimmet, President & CEO of Zimmet Healthcare Services Group, discussed key considerations regarding the waivers and the implications of the pandemic on Medicare billing and revenue that providers need to know while sharing invaluable, data-driven insights into the provider experience.
  • June 11th FEATURE PRESENTATION: Documenting the Financial Impact of COVID-19 (Anna Rizzo): Along with the human toll, the pandemic is having a significant impact on provider finances. While there are some funding sources available, providers need to make sure that they attribute losses and expenses carefully and avoid duplicate reimbursement. Anna Rizzo, Managing Director, BKD CPAs and Advisors, outlined what providers need to be doing now to ensure that they accurately and completely identify and capture the financial impact of COVID-19 on their organization and set up systems to maintain the necessary documentation that may be needed in the future.
  • June 12th FEATURE PRESENTATION: The Paycheck Protection Program (Rob Nasso): One of the most popular yet complex COVID-19-related financial relief programs is the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Additional program reforms have been recently announced. The session covered the ins and outs of the program with a focus on the recent changes. Rob Nasso, CPA, Partner, The Bonadio Group, provided an outline of the program, delved into its requirements and math, and discussed key considerations for making the most of the opportunity.

We again express sincere thanks to our presenters, Marc Zimmet of Zimmet Healthcare Services Group, Anna Rizzo of BKD, and Rob Nasso of The Bonadio Group. We also greatly appreciate the support of our sponsors, HealthPRO Heritage, Comprehensive Healthcare Solutions, and Genser Cona Elder Law, as well as the important insights that key staff from the sponsoring organizations shared during the meetings.

We look forward to the next round of meetings and invite member suggestions on topics and speakers.
