January Census Rosters Due April 6th
We are in the middle of the three-week window during which nursing homes must upload their Jan. 31, 2018 MDS rosters to the Health Commerce System (HCS). This information will be used to calculate the case mix index that will be the basis of July 2018 Medicaid rate acuity adjustments. The memo issued by the Department of Health (DOH) is here.
The upload must be completed by April 6th, and certifications must be submitted by email to primail@health.ny.gov by April 13th. Guidance for submission is outlined in a document titled Policy and Procedure for Processing the MDS Assessment Data for Medicaid Rate Setting Purposes, available in the "MDS for NF Reimbursement" section of the HCS.
Please note that DOH has not announced the second picture date for 2018, which has customarily been the last Wednesday of July.

As is often the case during roster submission time periods, DOH will likely be experiencing an influx of emails, so please allow additional time for a response. Please do let us know, however, if you do not receive a response after three days.
