Updates Posted to LeadingAge NY Nursing Home State Law Compliance Tool

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the New York State Legislature has enacted a flurry of nursing home legislation to promote stronger infection control practices, greater transparency of ownership and management, and increased consumer awareness of rights and facility quality indicators. To assist LeadingAge NY members in tracking and complying with these new requirements, the association has created a compliance tool for members only that lists key pieces of enacted state legislation, with effective dates and links to associated regulations and agency guidance.

The tool reflects only state legislation enacted since 2021 targeted at nursing homes and is current only through February 2023. It does not include laws that pre-date January 2021, nor does it include federal laws or regulations or requirements that are reflected only in agency guidance. LeadingAge NY will continue to update the tool periodically.
