Next Meeting of State LTC Planning Group Slated for Sept. 17th

The Department of Health (DOH) and New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) have announced that the fourth meeting of the Long Term Care Planning Project (LTCPP) will be held on Tues., Sept. 17, 2019 at The New York Academy of Medicine, located at 1216 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY. The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. and feature an interactive panel of stakeholders discussing the LTC workforce and strategies to help resolve workforce challenges. Please register at https://ltcppmeeting4.eventbrite.com by Fri., Sept. 13th to attend. Seating is limited.

The LTCPP is comprised of state, private, and not-for-profit leaders examining the LTC system and the projected needs of aging New Yorkers. LeadingAge NY and several of our members participate in this initiative, which involves a series of five meetings over the course of 2019.

Following the Sept. 17th meeting, DOH and NYSOFA plan to hold one more meeting, which will focus on financing alternatives to public programs (i.e., Medicaid). Presentation slides and notes from the first three meetings and other materials are posted on the LTCPP webpage.

LeadingAge NY will continue to contribute to this effort and monitor the outcomes. Members with questions about the initiative can contact DOH staff at ALTCteam@health.ny.gov.
