IPRO Presents Webinar on Pneumonia in the Nursing Home Setting

The IPRO Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) hosted a webinar regarding pneumonia in the nursing home setting on Thurs., Jan. 26, 2023. While the presentation was very clinical in nature and geared more toward physicians, there were a number of helpful takeaways for other clinical staff.

The focus areas of the webinar included:

• Reviewing upper and lower respiratory tract infection sites and associated organisms;
• Describing pneumonia severity assessment resources;
• Identifying empiric bacterial pneumonia treatment regimens, including duration of therapy; and
• Listing treatment options for COVID-19 infection, including time to start.
