DOH Issues DAL on Updated HCS Communications Directory

LeadingAge NY is pleased to report that after advocating on behalf of our members and discussions with the Department of Health (DOH), DOH last week issued a Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) indicating that it has updated its Health Commerce System (HCS) Communications Directory, allowing backups for key roles. In the updated Directory, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) may designate up to two backups for the roles of Administrator, Operator, Medical Director (physician), and Director of Nursing (registered nurse), and adult care facilities (ACFs) may designate up to two backups for the roles of Administrator and Operator. The deadline to have backups designated in the HCS is May 4, 2022.
