DOH Activates HERDS DME Survey for Nursing Homes

The Department of Health (DOH) Office of Health Emergency Preparedness (OHEP) has activated a Health Emergency Response Data System (HERDS) survey for hospitals and nursing homes statewide in response to a potential surplus of durable medical equipment (DME) in New York State supply warehouses. The goal of the survey is to determine which specific DME providers would be interested in receiving if a surplus does exist and then to assess the quantity of DME each provider would want to receive. Specific information about the make/model for each type of DME will also be collected.

Providers are asked to complete the survey by close of business on Mon., Oct. 31st.
