Deadline is extended to Feb. 15^th; members may reopen submitted applications to continue their work.

The three regulations arose out of legislation enacted in 2021. LeadingAge NY's comments highlighted flaws in the underlying assumptions of the statutes and regulations and issues requiring clarification, correction, or elaboration.

On Dec. 31^st, Governor Hochul issued an executive order temporarily suspending the minimum nursing hours (3.5 hours per resident day) and minimum direct care spending (70/40) requirements for nursing homes until Jan. 30, 2022.

Long term care and aging services providers, NORCs, and housing providers are encouraged to apply for funding.

Statutory requirements are scheduled to become effective on Jan. 1^st, will face legal challenge.

Comments on minimum nursing hours, minimum direct care spending, and character and competence regulations are due to DOH by Jan. 18^th. LeadingAge NY welcomes member input for inclusion in the association's comments until Jan. 4^th.

Members should note new Addendum #3 and are encouraged to complete the application early.
