The waiver will allow temporary nurse aides who have not yet completed their certified nurse aide training and testing to continue to work as nurse aides until the end of the federal COVID public health emergency.  LeadingAge NY has asked NYS DOH to clarify the scope of the waiver.

DOH issues annual cold weather advisory DAL for nursing homes.

Annual advisories remind providers of their regulatory responsibilities and precautions to be taken in the colder weather months.

LeadingAge NY submitted comments on the proposed regulation requiring nursing homes and ACFs to provide or arrange for COVID-19 vaccinations for residents and staff. The comments focused on lack of clarity, duplication of federal requirements for nursing homes, and disproportionately harsh penalties for ACFs.

The nursing home contracts survey released under DAL NH-22-15 is intended to apply only to contracts with an execution date 90 days or more in the future, according to recent communications from DOH.
