New Home Care Cost Report in the Works

The Department of Health (DOH) and staff from accounting firm KPMG are meeting with select providers and associations to review a new cost report that will collect detailed information from Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSAs), Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) Fiscal Intermediaries (FIs), as well as Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs). While for CHHAs the report will streamline some of the current cost reporting requirements, this will mark the first time that FI and LHCSA providers will be required to submit comprehensive cost reports and will markedly increase State insight into the financial condition of these providers.

The State intends to implement a thorough review and testing process with providers and engage in a number of intensive training opportunities as the report is rolled out in 2020 for reporting year 2019. More information will be issued as the roll-out proceeds.
