DOH Updates Benchmark Rates, Distributes ATI Funding

The Department of Health (DOH) has notified Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) Plans that the July 2019 nursing home Medicaid rate benchmark list has been posted on the DOH website. The notification letter is available here. The Department has also made an update to January 2019 benchmark rates. Barring mutually agreed upon alternative payments, Medicaid managed care plans are required to pay the posted nursing home benchmark rates through the end of 2020.

DOH also notified plans last week that they would again be the conduit for distributing Advanced Training Initiative (ATI) funding to nursing homes. Designated plans should have received a Dear Health Plan Letter (available here) directing them to distribute the funding to network provider nursing homes by Oct. 31st. A list of homes and distribution amounts accompanied the letter. Plans should have received the funding in the Medicaid payment released on Oct. 16th. Please note that not all plans are involved in distributing ATI funding and that the payments are targeted to those homes that DOH has deemed eligible.
