DataPoint: Medicare/Medicaid Databook

DOH has posted 2010 Medicare and Medicaid cost data for full benefit dual eligible individuals designated to participate in the Fully Integrated Dual Advantage (FIDA) program. The data combines Medicare and Medicaid claims data to provide insights into the volume and mix of services this population uses and the costs involved.

The FIDA demonstration coverage area includes Long Island, the NYC Boroughs and Westchester County. The data includes expenditures by category of service and are broken down by county.

The average per month combined Medicaid and Medicare cost for these 123,000 individuals was $5,377 in 2010, with personal care and home care costs each averaging more than $1,000 per month. Download the file containing costs by category of service here.

Links to additional files are posted on the MRT resources page under MRT 101.
