HUD to Host Webinar on New Funding for Green Retrofits at Affordable Properties

Following the announcement of new funds available to retrofit affordable multifamily housing properties for energy efficiency and climate resilience, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has scheduled a webinar to discuss the agency’s new landmark funding opportunity, the Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP).

HUD published three Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs) for the GRRP, totaling $837.5 million in grant funding and $4 billion in loan authority. The funding is targeted to HUD’s multifamily housing programs, including Project-Based Section 8, Section 202, Section 236, and Section 811 properties. HUD estimates that hundreds of properties will receive the new funding, benefiting tens of thousands of households.

Many proposals from LeadingAge National, developed based on member feedback, have been incorporated into HUD’s GRRP announcement. LeadingAge National has committed to continuing its work with HUD and its affordable senior housing provider members to improve green and resilient efforts across the portfolio.

Register now for HUD's GRRP webinar on Tues., May 23rd at 2 p.m. ET, or find more information, including an analysis of the funding opportunities, from LeadingAge National here.
