HUD Publishes Green and Resilient Retrofit Program Supplemental Notice

On Jan. 8th, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) published a supplemental Housing Notice to add flexibility and make administrative changes to the Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP). The GRRP makes grant and loan funding available for HUD-assisted Multifamily Housing providers to rehabilitate properties for climate resilience and energy and water efficiency.

Changes include distribution adjustments during the construction phase, Surplus Cash loan terms, renewable energy credits, Davis Bacon wage law clarifications, and more. The Notice applies to current owners who have received a GRRP award as well as to property owners who will be selected in upcoming application periods.

LeadingAge encourages its membership to apply for the GRRP’s rehabilitation funds and to leverage the accompanying energy benchmarking support now available from HUD. More information is available from LeadingAge here.
