Enacted Federal Budget Invests in HUD, Senior Housing

Signed March 12th, more than five months into the federal fiscal year (FY), the omnibus FY 2022 appropriations bill makes significant investments in the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and senior housing, including:

  • full renewal funding for existing Section 202 Project Rental Assistance Contracts (PRACs), Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance, and Service Coordinator grants;
  • funding and improvements for the Section 202/PRACs participating in the Rental Assistance Demonstration program; and
  • instructions for HUD to help address the gap in broadband access among HUD-assisted households.
