Effective Date for CDPAP FI Authorization Clarified in Legislation

Early this session, the State Legislature passed a bill (A.9035 (Gottfried)/S.7326 (Hannon)) clarifying that Jan. 1, 2018 is the effective date for fiscal intermediaries (FIs) to be authorized by the Department of Health (DOH) under the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program. It also allows entities operating as FIs prior to April 1, 2017 to have a year to obtain such authorization. This bill addresses the omission of such language in the CDPAP FI authorization requirement adopted in the 2017-18 State Budget. Governor Cuomo supports this legislation.
