We have all seen it in the headlines and on the news. An armed intruder enters a workplace, a school, a place of worship – nowhere is off limits. As long term care providers, you have to be ready.
LeadingAge NY is offering a one-day training, Active Shooter/Armed Intruder in the Senior Living Facility. Developed by health care security and law enforcement professionals and tested under real-life circumstances, the program will provide you with simple, easy-to-follow guidelines for minimizing the casualty count and maximizing survivability. Starting with preparation and planning, the program will move through all aspects of an event, including making sound decisions in the most stressful of circumstances, implementing internal response strategies until the police arrive, and managing the recovery process and the resources needed.
