LeadingAge Western New York Celebrates 50th Anniversary
LeadingAge National and LeadingAge NY recently recognized LeadingAge Western New York for its 50th anniversary. During a membership meeting in Buffalo on Nov. 16th, LeadingAge Senior Vice President Cheryl Phillips, M.D. and LeadingAge NY Executive Vice President Dan Heim presented citations to the regional association to recognize its longstanding commitment to improving the lives of seniors and disabled people of all ages in Western NY.
Since 1966, LeadingAge WNY has served as an advocate for senior care in the region, promoting quality care and health services. Comprised of over 60 not-for-profit providers in the region, the association’s nursing home, assisted living facility, community services provider, and senior housing members serve approximately 13,000 individuals annually and employ nearly 8,000 health care professionals and paraprofessionals. LeadingAge WNY is an active networking group that enables members to share information and ideas. It also provides many educational opportunities for administrators and staff of member organizations to develop skills and programs that enhance quality care. The association also works closely with its state and national partners.
