Join the LeadingAge NY Engineering Council!
The goal of the LeadingAge NY Engineering Council is to provide information to facility managers/directors, environmental services (EVS) directors, and security directors specific to their areas, and to build joint mutual friendships and contacts among them. Council members share their ideas with each other in meetings, and LeadingAge NY provides stewardship and vendors specific to engineering such as facility heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); building restoration; cleaning; disinfection; and safety.
LeadingAge NY is a distinguished organization that strives through its mission and values to enhance senior living. Two of these values are community and stewardship. One of the values states: We will be stronger together with our diversity, but we have one common goal: to enhance the lives of those who have trusted us to take care of them. The other is to provide stewardship – guidance and leadership through resources available to LeadingAge NY.
The Engineering Council will be an opportunity for facility directors, EVS directors/managers, and security directors to come together on a continued basis to learn, share their ideas, and stay informed with regulations specific to their fields (e.g., life safety; compliance in areas with the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); safety and security). The new changes coming from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), DOH, etc. will be addressed in these meetings as well. LeadingAge NY will also introduce vendors who will provide training, show products, discuss new trends, familiarize all with ongoing supply shortages, etc. At times, we may enlist DOH representatives to speak in these meetings for nursing homes and assisted living facilities or share new regulations similar to past topics (e.g., new E-tags from CMS and Legionella testing, which were mandated in the last two to three years).
