Diversity and Inclusion Survey Deadline Extension
The deadline to complete the LeadingAge NY 2020 Long Term Care Race and Ethnicity Survey has been extended. Survey respondents may return a completed survey by Oct. 23, 2020. Thank you to those who already completed the survey.
Last year, recognizing that the racial and ethnic diversity of direct care staff is not reflected in executive teams, LeadingAge NY created a Diversity Committee with a mission to increase the ethnic and racial diversity in leadership positions in long term care. The charge is to identify barriers and solutions and develop best practices, education, and resources to help providers to be intentional in developing more diversity in leadership. This includes the development of effective career ladders that help the diverse pool of direct caregivers to attain higher-level positions and higher pay.
Considering the international movement to address racial inequality and the mission of our committee, we created a confidential survey that will give you baseline information about the racial and ethnic backgrounds of your staff and managers. We believe this information will be a powerful first step in our work, and we ask you to take some time to fill out the survey to give insight about the true make-up of your organization. All information about your organization will remain strictly confidential and will only be reported in the aggregate, so that you may compare your demographic make-up with that of your peers as a critical first step in our work together.
