Resources Available Regarding Medical Answering Services Non-Emergency Medical Transportation

LeadingAge NY members have been sharing their nursing home and adult care facility (ACF) resident challenges accessing Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) provided by Medical Answering Services (MAS).

The slides and recording of MAS's recent Department of Health (DOH) webinar, as well as the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document they created to address questions posted in the chat, are now available here, here, and here. All of these resources are posted in the Health Commerce System (HCS).

LeadingAge NY has requested a follow-up meeting with the Department and MAS to learn more about the status of their efforts to address shortages of transportation vendors for long term care providers, as well as the late notice/cancellation challenges members and residents are experiencing.
