LeadingAge NY Continues to Seek Member Feedback on Medicaid Transportation Challenges

LeadingAge NY has been aware of some of the challenges arising in different areas of the state regarding non-emergency Medicaid transportation of nursing home residents to physician and other health care appointments. At the LeadingAge NY Annual Conference, we learned that this challenge is more widespread than we thought.

LeadingAge NY held an initial meeting with the Department of Health (DOH) on this issue, and we continue to assemble member challenges and experiences for the Department.

Please feel free to contact us with your experience, the barriers you believe are contributing to the challenges, the brokers or vendors involved, the types of health care services residents are unable to access, and the frequency and timeline associated with these challenges. We would like to get a clear picture of what is happening in various regions of the state to inform our discussions with the Department. Adult day health care (ADHC) details are welcome as well.
