Amendments to  State Labor Law section 201-d prohibiting discrimination against employees who refuse to attend political or religious meetings took effect on Sept. 6, 2023.  The amendments also require employers to post a sign informing employees of their rights under the various anti-discrimination provisions of section 201-d.

The U.S. Department of Labor is hosting a free webinar on submitting data to comply with new annual reporting requirements. The webinar will be held on Feb. 7^th at 1 p.m.

A new OSHA regulation took effect on Jan. 1, 2024, requiring high-hazard employers (including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other health and residential facilities) with 100 or more employees to submit electronic illness and injury data by March 2^nd of each year.

Legislation enacted as part of the SFY 2023-24 budget imposed registration, reporting, and minimum standards requirements on temporary health care staffing agencies, including a prohibition on employment fees or liquidated damages when a temporary worker is converted to a permanent hire.

Employers have until Oct. 31^st to submit claims for bonus payments for the fourth vesting period.
