NYS MPA Bronx Town Hall Scheduled for Feb. 5th
Registration information is now available for the next Master Plan for Aging (MPA) Town Hall, which will be hosted on Mon., Feb. 5th from 4-6 p.m. at the R.A.I.N. Boston Road Older Adult Center, located at 2424 Boston Road in the Bronx. Register to attend in person or to view live online.
These public engagement sessions are being hosted across the state by the NYS Department of Health (DOH) and Office for the Aging (SOFA) and are designed for New Yorkers to learn more about the status of the MPA and to provide their feedback on how the final plan would best serve the older adults in their communities.
DOH and SOFA are also soliciting feedback via a statewide public survey to help shape the strategies and priorities of the MPA. Members are encouraged to complete the survey prior to the newly extended Feb. 29th deadline and to share widely among staff, residents and families, and community networks.
Additionally, LeadingAge NY staff and members are continuing their participation in the MPA’s issue-focused workgroups to develop stakeholder recommendations reflective of member priorities. A final report of stakeholder recommendations, informed by feedback received during Town Halls and via the survey, is expected in July 2024. The final MPA is due to be issued in early January 2025.
