Department of Health Opens Registration for Value-Based Payment Boot Camp Second Session

The Department of Health (DOH) has opened registration for the second Value-Based Payment (VBP) "boot camp" in Region 1 (covering the Capital, Mid-Hudson and Southern Tier regions). This session will address contracting and risk management. The date and location for the session are:

Wed., June 15, 2016, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SUNY Albany Uptown Campus - Recital Hall - 1400 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12222

Five boot camp sessions will be held in each of five regions by the DOH to provide "an in-depth look at Value Based Contracting in New York State Medicaid." They will offer an overview of VBP arrangements and how to succeed under VBP contracts. The sessions will also describe the data and analytics that the State will make available, strategies for accepting down-side risk, and expectations and incentives for plans and providers. The first boot camp will be held in Region 1 on Thurs., June 2nd and will provide an introduction to VBP.
